Alicante, a destination for digital nomads
Development of campaigns, events, conferences, and activities to position Alicante as a top global destination for digital nomads.
At Torres Hospitality Consulting, we've been working since 2020 to position Alicante as a preferred global destination for digital nomads and remote workers.
In collaboration with Fundeun (Fundación Empresa Universidad) and with the support of Alicante City Council, we organized the 1st International Congress Alicante: Destination for Digital Nomads and Remote Workers in June 2021, an event that featured global leaders in the sector sharing their vision.
In 2022, we organized and coordinated a hybrid workshop (in-person and online) where the best policies to implement in Alicante to improve the city's positioning were discussed. Speakers included both local speakers (Alicante Airport Director), Deputy Mayor, and speakers from other regions (Canary Islands).
In 2022, as a result of these actions led by Torres Hospitality Consulting, a face-to-face training program was launched, together with the University of Alicante (Torrevieja Campus), focused on training local talent in attracting and retaining foreign professional profiles: NEW BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES FOR RESIDENTIAL DESTINATIONS: DIGITAL NOMADS, with editions in 2022 and 2023.
In 2024, we renewed our agreement with Alicante City Council to organize a 2nd International Congress, which would follow up on the series of measures we have been implementing since 2021. For this edition, we were responsible for selecting the speakers (consultants and global leaders), as well as the most relevant local entrepreneurs related to the digital nomad segment, to showcase the economic and knowledge potential that this sector offers, supported by success stories such as Portugal and Malaga, whose representatives were part of the panel of speakers.
